About
The client owns the USA’s leading footwear business with many outlets across the country. Having Collaborated with the top shoe brands and a wide collection of different shoe styles resulted in a rich popularity compared to competitors. To strive in the competition, the client thought of providing a personalized experience to the customers. Therefore, the client approached Brainvire to develop an AR-based mobile app that enriches the customer experience of purchasing a footwear product.
Project Highlights
Brainvire developed a completely Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) driven mobile application for client’s footwear store. This footwear application is about providing a personalized experience where the customers can virtually try out the various styles. The customer can make a purchase decision without giving second thoughts to how would it look on them. This saves the users from crucial shoe trial experience. The application renders the 3D view of the customer’s forefoot and provides an augmented representation of a shoe on it. In addition to that, the rendering allows the multiple configurations such as changing of shoe color, style and more. This huge timesaver and personalized experience based app is getting applauding response from the customers.
The Challenges
- The latest AR technology that serves the scalabilityThere are many AR based plugin available in the IT world. The application demanded the SDK that serves the purpose of simplicity along with a future scope. Moreover, the application needed the advanced camera options, precise 3D tracking, and accurate object positioning.
- Detection of forefoot within the peripheryThe first thing footwear application requires is a 3D image of a customer’s forefoot. The customer will have to place a foot on a tracking sheet and the camera view needs to be captured and an exact 3D image must be constructed. Moreover, a 3D rendering of a shoe object must fit the forefoot object accurately. The whole idea was to give the best real-life shoe wearing experience to the user.
- <h3>Challenge: The positioning of Shoe’s 3D object on forefoot’s objectThe correct positioning of a shoe 3D object on the forefoot object was the complex task. Since this kind of alignment varies from customer to customer, there needed a precise logic to provide the engaging experience to the customers.
- Changing the shoe configuration while 3D renderingNot only the accurate positioning of the shoe on forefoot but also the shoe configurations can be changed during the virtual showcase. The client asks the feature that allows changing the color and size parameters. When a user changes a shoe color or a size, the same must be reflected on the screen.
