The client is a Denver, USA based firm that wanted to set a foothold in a 3D Gaming Industry such as Pokémon Go game, but with a unique gaming concept, enhanced AR, animations, and lots of diversity in play.
Project Highlights
The project is an AR-based hit game, first of its own kind. It takes the entire gaming experience of finding and killing targets in the real-like world using GPS based location. The project is equipped with real locations, location wise or group wise multi-user rooms, a variety of unique and innovative modes to play in, avatars (characters) & weapons, full-fledged animation all the time, in-app purchases, ad campaigns, integration with social media, and much more.
The Challenges
- Real location-based moving AvatarWhile framing everything around real locations and real users, keeping static Avatar was a little easy programming, but the client wanted an Avatar- a continuously moving character. This kind of feature was never there in any game before. So it was a big challenge for the developers.
- Slow Speeding and Server CrashingThe game is AR-based, real location based and multiuser game. A load of many users playing same time in one room can cause lower speeding. Also, multiple user groups (rooms) playing at same time can affect the speed and leads towards the crash of the server and game both.
- Visibility and Communication with Other UsersAs the new user enters in the location or the current user enters in another radius, the opponents playing in the same location should be visible and at the same time, notification of each target killed and new users joined should be sent to all the users same time.
- Transforming Angular Fight to Face to Face FightA user moving ahead in the certain direction and targeting in the opposite direction causes the trouble of making a hit move. The angular fight is not feasible in the game. To convert the angular fight into face to face fight was a big hurdle in development.
